Hillel Selznick is a New York-born artist who works in a variety of mediums, including water color and oil. He is generally recognized for his squares and stripes, which are composed of brushy layers of color. Hillel works in acrylics, oils, watercolours, pastels, and any combination of these. In his abstract and figurative work, he emphasizes color, light, texture, and subjects, including landscapes, flowers, still lifes, beaches, seascapes, and abstractions. In most of his paintings, he uses a primary color such as green, blue, red, or orange as the main color. A number of his paintings are in private collections across several continents.
