About Me
Born in 1956, Shaye Hirsch is a New York-based painter. Having studied at New York University, he holds a Bachelor of Art Degree in Fine Arts. Shaye Hirsch's paintings are influenced by great masters such as Duchamp and Picasso, using a unique sense of subjectivity in the treatment of color. Furthermore, constant references to the great artistic and literary movements of the 20th century are made in an ironic and sarcastic way. In addition to embracing the graphic and varied world of modern art, Hirsch's paintings also reflect the colorism of Pop Art. Shaye Hirsch's artwork has elements that are both appropriations and originals, making them integral components of his relationship with the outside world. He has established this relationship with a marked humorous, playful and ironic accent. Shaye's paintings portray color in a subjective way, alluding to literary and artistic movements of the 20th century with irony and social criticism. Therefore, everything he depicts in his paintings is a part of his relationship with the world, a humorous one. Aside from being colorful, lively, and abstract, Shaye Hirsch's artworks convey a clear message in a coherent manner. Since 1985, the painter has been exhibiting at various galleries and collaborating with the New York Art Gallery.
