Chief Minister M.K. Stalin declared that the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections would be the final chapter in the political journey of AIADMK leader Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS). Speaking at a government event in Mayiladuthurai, Stalin said the people had already said “Tata, bye bye” to EPS since 2019, and that the upcoming polls would formalize that sentiment.

Taking a dig at Palaniswami’s recent jibes, Stalin said, “He keeps saying goodbye to me, but it is the people who have been bidding farewell to him for years.” He further alleged that even within the AIADMK, Palaniswami no longer enjoys the full trust of his colleagues.

Stalin also used the platform to criticize both the AIADMK and the BJP-led Central government, pointing to their “inaction and failure to serve Tamil Nadu’s interests.” He was addressing a gathering while inaugurating development initiatives and welfare schemes in the region.

As political tensions rise ahead of the 2026 elections, Stalin’s remarks set the stage for an intensifying campaign, with the DMK signaling confidence and aiming to consolidate its voter base.
