Interpretation of JL (Jieli) Chip Silk - printing: How to Judge the True Model through Silk - printing

For those who have searched for JL (Jieli) chips, it is found that it is difficult to find the original model information and locate the specific model directly through the silk - printed letters on the chip surface (of course, there are cases like JL6976M that can be directly searched for the model from the silk - printing).

This is because that string of letters is composed of production date, batch number, etc., so direct search won't work. The following is the breakdown of the silk - printing of JL chips. In fact, it follows certain rules, and after decomposition, the specific model can be judged.

The following methods are from: Chip markings explained | jielie (kagaimiq.github.io) and personal summary.

Meanings of each part of the silk - printing breakdown:

  • Serial number (capital - letter part ABCDE):

    • A: The letters are usually "AB", "AC", "AD", "AS", etc. The first letter is always "A", and this part can be omitted.

    • B: Represents the manufacturing year. Usually, it is the last two digits of the year. For example, "18" represents 2018. But sometimes it may be further truncated. For instance, "2" may represent 2012. This part can also be omitted.

    • C: Represents the manufacturing week. It is usually omitted on newer chips. If there is no year code, this part will also be omitted.

    • D: The letters are "A", "B", etc., which may be part of the batch number.

    • E: Represents the batch number Lot. Sometimes it can be used to distinguish models like AC109N and AC608N. The former has a ".1" suffix, while the latter doesn't. In some micro - packages (such as QFN32), some parts of the serial number may be omitted, and only the batch number exists at this time.

  • Part number (lower - case part fgh, after the "-"):

    • f: Represents the chip series variant, such as AC6901, AC6902, AC6965, etc.

    • g: Represents the chip body letter (A, B, C, D, etc.).

    • h: Contains other information, such as flash size, SDRAM size, PSRAM size, etc. The flash size is expressed in megabits (for example, "8" means 8 Mb = 1 MB). Chips without any flash are marked with "0" here (such as AC691N without flash), or marked with something more relevant to the chip (such as SDRAM size). This also applies to the complete chip marking, where the first part is the actual chip name (such as JL6976, JL700N, etc.).

Summary of the query method:
Through the interpretation of JL silk - printing, we find that when the silk - printing cannot directly query the model, the letters after the "-" symbol are highly related to the letter suffix of the true model.

  • Step 1: Search for "Jieli" on the home page of Xinchacha. After entering the brand home page, click on the section model.

  • Step 2: Input according to the number part after the "-" symbol plus the first letter (2 - 3 letters). For example, if it is 25B4 after the "-" symbol, input 25B; if it is 26CB, input 26C; if it is 1A8, input 1A.

  • Step 3: Based on the model obtained from the query, judge whether the package is the same as the chip package to be queried through the package, and then check the data manual.

The above query method is applicable to most JL chips. Of course, some chips are special and need specific analysis and judgment. If there is a way to contact the original factory, you can directly consult the original factory.
