West Indies Suffer Complete Whitewash at Home Against Dominant Australia

West Indies failed to offer any resistance against Australia in their recent three-match home Test series, culminating in a shocking 27-run all-out in the final match a collapse that drew criticism from across the cricketing world. The humiliation continued in the T20I format, where the Caribbean side was whitewashed 5–0 by the visitors, marking only the second time in T20I history a team has won a five-match series without dropping a game.
Previously, India achieved the same feat in 2020, defeating New Zealand 5–0 on their home turf, with two of the wins coming via Super Over. Australia has now joined that elite club, completing the tour with an overall 8–0 record across formats.
This places Australia jointly second on the list of most wins in a single overseas tour without defeat. The record for most matches won on a single unbeaten tour still belongs to India, who crushed Sri Lanka 9–0 across formats in 2017.
Australia had previously recorded an 8–0 win on their 2005 tour of New Zealand, with one match ending in a draw. Similarly, in 1983, West Indies won eight matches and drew three during their successful tour of India.
In today’s (Tuesday) final T20I in St. Kitts, West Indies posted a total of 170 runs while batting first. Australia chased down the target with ease, losing just three wickets and with 18 balls to spare, sealing a historic and emphatic series whitewash.
