Mental Health Education in Schools-Sign the PETITION, sign for a change.

India holds the grim distinction of being called the suicide capital of the world, with one life lost every three minutes. Behind these numbers lie shattered families, silent struggles, and an urgent need for systemic change. A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) titled “India: The Suicide Capital of the World : Mandate Mental Health Education in Schools” calls for a nationwide policy to integrate mental health awareness into school curricula. Early education can equip children with coping skills, reduce stigma, and create safe spaces where young minds feel heard and supported.

The petition is backed by Middlemen.Asia and the WeDidit Foundation, two organizations dedicated to transforming lives through advocacy, legal aid, and systemic reforms. Together, they emphasize that suicide prevention cannot remain a private battle—it must be addressed as a national priority through education and policy intervention.

The Aim is to Achieve :-

1. Mandatory Mental Health Education: Equip every child with emotional intelligence and coping mechanisms.

2. Early Intervention: Address mental health issues before they escalate. Prevent Future Crises: Reduce suicide rates, alleviate families’ suffering, and mitigate the financial toll of untreated mental illness.

3. Global Leadership: Position India as a trailblazer in mental health advocacy, setting an example for the world.

This PIL is not just a legal document but a call to action. Mandating mental health education in schools could be the turning point in reversing India’s silent epidemic. Signing and sharing this petition means standing for a future where no child feels alone, and no life is cut short by silence. Your voice can save lives—act now.
