🧠 Anxiety: When Your Mind Won’t Shut Up

🧠 What It Feels Like

Anxiety isn’t just “worry.” It’s your brain acting like it's in a group chat that won’t stop blowing up — except the messages are worst-case scenarios, made-up arguments, and a playlist of what-ifs. Your heart races, you feel like you forgot something huge, and your body’s just... tense. All. The. Time.

It’s lying in bed, exhausted but unable to sleep. Overthinking texts. Replaying convos from 3 days ago. Feeling like you’re “too much” but also “not enough.”

🧩 What’s Really Going On

Anxiety is your body’s survival system glitching. It’s supposed to warn you when something’s wrong — but with anxiety, the alarm won’t shut off, even if you’re safe.

It can come from past experiences, stress overload, people-pleasing, perfectionism, or literally no reason at all (which somehow makes it feel worse).

It’s a mix of your nervous system freaking out, your brain looping, and your body reacting like there’s a tiger in the room — when there’s not.

🔍 How It Shows Up IRL

  • Canceling plans you were excited for

  • Needing reassurance... again

  • Scrolling endlessly to avoid thinking

  • Tight chest, sweaty hands, fast heartbeat

  • Feeling like you're gonna mess up even when everything’s fine

  • Avoiding emails like they’re actual threats

  • Saying “I’m just tired” when you mean “I’m overwhelmed af”

🚨 When It Gets Heavy

If anxiety is messing with your sleep, eating, relationships, or work — or if you’re constantly on edge — it’s valid to get help. Therapy isn’t “too much.” Medication isn’t “giving up.” You’re allowed to want peace.

🛠 Coping Without Shame

  • Name it. “This is anxiety talking, not reality.”

  • Breathe on purpose (sounds corny but it works)

  • Move your body — walk, stretch, jump around

  • Talk to someone who gets it (not someone who’ll just say “relax”)

  • Journal the spiral so it loses power

  • Limit caffeine (yes, even your iced coffee, fam 😭)

❤️ Final Words

You're not dramatic, broken, or weak. You're human — living in a wild world that is overwhelming sometimes. But anxiety doesn't get to write your whole story. You’re allowed to pause. You’re allowed to ask for help. And you’re allowed to feel without fixing everything immediately.

Hi. I’m Karienye. I write code and forget why I started writing it five minutes later. Some say I’m a developer. Others say I’m just a sleep-deprived human trying to make JavaScript behave. Both are correct. I once fixed a bug by sacrificing a cup of coffee to the coding gods, and honestly? It worked. Here’s what you need to know: I write clean code, then mess it up trying to “optimize” it, I talk to rubber ducks like they’re my therapists 🐥, Git is my diary and every commit is a cry for help, Stack Overflow knows me better than my own family,I once named a variable “banana” and it somehow fixed the issue?? 🍌💻 When I’m not debugging the universe, I’m probably Eating snacks at 3am like a true developer, Arguing with ChatGPT about why my code should work, Googling “how to center a div” for the 497th time, Telling my laptop “please” like it owes me something 🙃 If you’re looking for sanity, you won’t find it here. But if you’re looking for code, chaos, and vibes — welcome to the party. 🎉👾
